Ever since childhood, I have loved helping others. When I immigrated to the United States as a
teenager and entered high school, I wondered what kind of career would allow me to continue
helping people while also building a stable future. After discussing it with my parents, I decided
to become a doctor.
I earned both my MS and MD degrees from Chicago Medical School and continued my training
at Yale University Internal Medicine Residency Program. During residency, I became interested
in interventional pain management because of how quickly it could relieve people’s suffering. It
was rewarding to take away someone’s pain and see them recover.
I also realized that helping people by relieving their pain and helping them by improving their
appearance are very similar. Both are about caring for people and improving their quality of
life. From that realization, I decided to devote myself fully to medical aesthetics.
